NWCC 2026–27 Season Is Opening!

September 14, 2026 at 7:32:05 PM

Dear NWCC Families,

We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer!

The NWCC 2026–27 Season is officially opening!

This year the opening day is September 12 (Saturday) at 5pm.

We are meeting at the same place: Kirkland Central Church 14220 Juanita Woodinville Way NE, Kirkland, WA 98034

As we begin a new season, we are returning to NWCC's original purpose:

creating opportunities for more students to experience, learn, and share string music together.

This year, we are expanding our educational opportunities with a special focus on making string music more accessible and inclusive. We hope to provide meaningful music-learning experiences for a wider range of students who may have had fewer opportunities to participate in traditional music programs, including students who benefit from additional learning and social support.

Through small-group string instruction, peer learning, and chamber music, both NWCC students and new students who learn from NWCC volunteers will have opportunities to develop musical skills while building confidence, cooperation, and a sense of belonging.

Our Weekly Schedule
  • 5:00–6:30 PM — Chamber Rehearsal Practice

  • 6:30–7:30 PM — String Music Education & Enrichment

  • 7:30–8:00 PM — Student Board Meeting (starting in October, following discussion with our students)

Please also share this opportunity with friends who may be interested in joining NWCC! We would love to welcome new students interested in learning, performing, serving, and growing through music together.

We are also expanding our community outreach through monthly performances, bringing live string music closer to people who may not always have easy access to live performances.

2026-27 Performance Highlights
  • October 17 (Sat.) 4pm — Community Concert at Aegis Living Bellevue

  • November 14 (Sat.) 4pm — Community Concert at Harbour Pointe Life Enrichment

  • December 6 (Sun.) 2pm — Collaborative Concert with NWCC Choir at Saint Anne Catholic Church

  • December 12 (Sat.) 4pm — Winter Concert at Third Place Commons

  • Details about our 2027 performances will be shared as plans are finalized.

We are excited to continue developing our community performances throughout the year. In 2027, we are planning a special public project: Summer Strings at Community Park.

Beginning in January, students will take on different roles and actively contribute to the project —not only as musicians, but also through music selection, promotion, website updates, social media, event planning, and community outreach. We hope to make Summer Strings a truly student-led community project, where every student can find a meaningful way to contribute and share their talents with the community.

More Opportunities for Service & Recognition

Last season, 20 NWCC students had their volunteer service recognized through the National Service Honor platform: 3 students received Gold, 5 received Silver, and 12 received Bronze awards.

This year, we have intentionally designed our Chamber program to provide more opportunities for students to earn and have their service hours recognized through NWCC activities. Regular Chamber participation, community concerts, outreach activities, leadership opportunities, and special projects will all provide meaningful ways for students to serve and contribute.

Our goal is not simply to increase service hours, but to give more students opportunities to serve, lead, share their talents, and have their contributions recognized.

We are also pleased to continue providing volunteer recognition through National Service Honor while we wait for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) program to resume.
